“Miku” means beautiful sky in Japanese. It represents our mission to deliver families peace of mind.
What comes in the box?
In the box, you will receive a Miku baby monitor, wall mount & level, measuring tape, screwdriver, power cord, power supply, anchors, screws, and optional cable guide hardware.
Where is Miku sold?
Miku is only sold on our website, mikucare.com, and only ships to the United States at this time.
What countries does Miku work in?
With the right adapter for the country, you can bring Miku with you anywhere you travel.
How far away from the Miku monitor can I be?
With a Wifi or Internet signal, you can access your Miku app from anywhere in the world.
How far away from the Miku monitor can my baby be?
When the baby is laying in a standard crib, Miku is optimized for a position above the crib, 60 inches from the floor.
Will Miku still work if my baby is wearing a onesie or a swaddle?
Yes! Miku will work in any clothes your baby is wearing, at any sleeping position in the crib.
What is the recommended age to use Miku?
We recommend that a baby is sleeping in a standard crib and no longer co-sleeping.
Do I need a drill to install Miku on drywall?
Nope! Everything you need to install your Miku comes in the box.
Do I need a drill to install Miku on plaster, brick, concrete, or other walls?
For installation on other wall surfaces, please contact our Customer Care team for support.
What devices are compatible with Miku?
The Miku App is compatible with Apple iPhones running iOS 11 or later and Android phones running version 4.1 (API 16/+) or later.
Will Miku work on an iPad or Apple Watch?
Miku is developed for use on iPhone and Android devices. We are currently working to optimize our app for the Apple Watch, iPad, and other tablet devices.
What if I don’t have a smartphone?
Miku currently requires a smartphone to download the Miku app and set up the device.
Does Miku need WiFi to work?
Miku requires WiFi connectivity to send you alerts, notifications, and other important messages. However, Miku’s core functions process locally and will continue to alert you through its internal speakers if you lose WiFi connection.
Do you have a desktop app?
Currently, Miku only operates from your smartphone app.
Can I pair Miku with Amazon Alexa or Google Home?
We are in the process of developing Amazon Alexa and Google Home integrations.
How do I purchase a MikuMind subscription?
As a part of Miku’s launch, anyone who purchases a Miku baby monitor will receive a free one-year subscription to MikuMind.
How long are my motion, sound, and noise events stored?
Motion, sound, and noise events are stored for 30 days. To keep these events longer, we recommend downloading them to your smart device, computer, or an external drive.
What is Miku’s approach to safety?
Without wires or wearables, Miku was designed with the safety of your child in mind, complete with a local Crypto Chip and custom cable guards.
Is Miku secure from hacking?
Miku takes your safety very seriously. That’s why Miku houses a high-security Crypto Chip so data remains secure, a feature unique to Miku. Embedded in the device, the tamper-resistant chip is dedicated to protecting the device’s operations.
Is Miku considered a medical device?
Miku is not a medical device. Miku is only intended to be a health and wellness device and does not claim to prevent, diagnose, or treat any medical condition.
Is Miku waterproof?
Miku is not waterproof and is made for indoor use only.
Are radio waves harmful to my baby?
Miku falls under a class of devices that includes cell phones, televisions, and Bluetooth devices. These devices emit non-ionizing radiation. Still, Miku emits 1000x less radiation than any cell phone, Bluetooth device, or television.
What kind of data will Miku collect?
Miku collects data that will help optimize our algorithms to enhance the functionality of the Miku.
Who has access to my Miku?
Only you and your authorized shared users will have access to your Miku. You can control access in your account settings in the Miku app.
